Dragging Muta closely behind, Caphy arrive at the hatcery in a matter of minutes. The building wasn't very big, or pretty for that matter, but the little dragon loved it all the same.
Swinging open the wooden double doors, he stepped into the room and was instantly greeted by a chorus of hellos. He was a regualr around here. Here he could be himself and no one cared that he wasn't human.
"This is Mister Muti!" he said to the smiling receptionist. "He's new in town and was looking for a way to get some money for food."

"Nice to meet you all." Mutatsu bowed low. "This is my soul. I call it Myon." He motioned towards the floating bluish flame floating to his right.

The receptionist gave him a confused look, then smiled.
"Well, welcome, sir! We have plenty of space for help around here. I'm sorry we can't pay much, but it will help you get started in this town." She bowed low and lead them to a room off to the side. "This is where we keep the two week old eggs. Here, the just need monitoring and turning every five minutes.
"There," she continued, indicating a larger area at the end of the hall, "is where we raise the more lively animals. Mostly mammals such as dogs, cats, and even the occasion dragon. They need their pens cleaned out wheb necessary and always love to play."
Xaphy looked over at the man. "Where do you want to visit first, Muti?"

"Anywhere's fine." Mutatsu smiled. He looked at the receptionist. "When can I start working?"

(OMG YOU ARE NOT GIVING ME ANYTHING TO WORK WITH)
Xaphy sighed. It was hard to talk to someone that didn't seem to care.
"Umm...I like the hatching room. That's my favorite, even if we just get to watch." He tried. He bounced down the hall to the last room on the left and peeked in. The whitewashed walls made all the eggs look slightly darker. Nothing was hatching at the moment, but various colors of speckled, patterned, or striped eggs lined the shelves along the walls under their own heat lamp.
The man inside was dressed in light blue scrubs and looked up with asmile when Xaphy entered.
"No hatching yet, I'm afraid," he said. "There should be one pretty soon." He pointed to a blue egg with red speckles on it. "If I'm right, that one should be next."

"How can you tell?" Mutatsu asked, but not before greeting the man inside. "These are very interesting eggs.. Do you know what creatures laid them?"

The man looked over the Mutatsu, a little surprised Xaphy had a guest. He shook his head.
"I'm not completely sure, but I like that aspect. It's always interesting seeing what comes out." He nodded toward the egg he was speaking of. "That one was shaking a little earlier today, though not enough to have to remove it. After it starts shaking about once every fifteen minutes, I put it on the little table here and make sure it doesn't fall off."
Xaphy squealed in excitment. "I want to see it hatch!"

Mutatsu smiled, seeing the excitement gleaming in the little dragon's eyes. "I want to see it too." He said softly. "....Oh, is it five minutes already?" He checked the clock for clarification. "So how much do I turn it?"

A clock gonged outside. It was eight 'o clock.
Xaphy suddenly squealed. "Oh my gawd, Muta! We've been up all night! I have to meet Raien be the gate!" He fluttered nervously trying to get the man's attention.
"I'm sorry, Mister Muti, but I really have to go!" Without another word, the little dragon zoomed out of the room and disappeared from sight.

Mutatsu watched him go. "...." He smiled slightly before heading back over to his area near the gate to spend the night and sleep.
